About the Role
Guild is seeking a Senior Account Director – Public Sector to help expand workforce education and career mobility programs through partnerships with state and local government organizations.
This strategic leadership role focuses on identifying growth opportunities, developing relationships with public-sector stakeholders, and helping launch workforce development initiatives that create educational and economic opportunities for communities.
The position is ideal for professionals with experience in government relations, account management, workforce development, consulting, business development, or public-sector partnerships who enjoy building new programs and working with senior decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities
Public Sector Growth & Strategy
- Identify new public-sector partnership opportunities
- Research workforce development programs and funding opportunities
- Analyze policy, regulatory, and market trends
- Support strategic growth initiatives across state and local governments
Relationship Management
- Build relationships with government agencies, municipalities, workforce organizations, and community partners
- Understand stakeholder needs and workforce challenges
- Manage complex public-sector accounts and partnerships
- Present solutions aligned with workforce development goals
Program Development
- Support pilot programs and workforce initiatives
- Help validate new opportunities and measure impact
- Contribute to solution design and funding strategies
- Assist in developing scalable workforce education programs
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with finance, legal, product, policy, marketing, and operations teams
- Provide market insights and strategic recommendations
- Support go-to-market planning and account growth efforts
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in account management, business development, consulting, strategy, sales, workforce development, education, or government-related roles
- Experience working with public-sector organizations or multi-stakeholder partnerships
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to build and grow new programs or business opportunities
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working in evolving and fast-paced environments
- Passion for education, workforce development, and career mobility
